One brief moment, one long look:
my eyes in yours, your eyes in mine
for one moment after a long, long time
our souls are united once again.
We smile and the gods smile upon us
and the lesson continues – we are
the Teacher,
the Student;
for one moment after a long, long time
we are reminded, I remember
the pain, the need, the urge – I remember
we are blessed.
I close my eyes
I close my heart
and I will return
